If you needed proof that 2019 is going to be okay, it's the existence of the Beeb's new documentary series Danny Dyer's Right Royal Family.

Because there's nothing that quells those fears about a country in crisis quite like knowing Danny Dyer could feasibly become king, is there?

Unsurprisingly, the first episode of Danny's Who Do You Think You Are? spin-off was a total hit with viewers when it aired yesterday evening (January 23), but there was one moment in particular that sparked joy like no other.

And we're not even talking about Danny referring to William the Conqueror as "gramps".

In scenes that delighted the world and his wife (on Twitter, anyway), EastEnders star Danny could be seen approaching an "Anglo-Saxon watermelon" on horseback.

"What's the matter? You want some?" the actual heir to the throne shouted, before impaling the watermelon with a lance. "Get hold of that!" he roared in triumph.

"ALL WE NEED FROM TV NOW AND FOR EVER IS DANNY DYER SPEARING A WATERMELON," one viewer shouted in response, making a compelling argument. "I'm talking all channels, all day. Back to back coverage."

"Danny Dyer murdering a watermelon on horseback shouting "AV IT" turns out to be exactly what I needed on a Wednesday evening," another wrote.

Name a more iconic TV moment. We'll wait.

Danny Dyer's Right Royal Family continues next Wednesday (January 30) at 9pm on BBC One. We are so bloody spoiled.
