Dead phone? This power bank, a favorite of 79,000 shoppers, is down to only $17

This compact battery from Anker weighs only 8.6 ounces but juices up most devices at least a couple of times.

As someone who travels a lot and likes to camp without necessarily roughing it, a portable power bank is a must-have in my carry-on and backpack. While there are a ton of brands out there, not all of them are created equal — and well-built, aesthetically pleasing tech often comes with a price tag that can make you wince (I'm looking at you, Apple). Thankfully there are exceptions to that rule, like with this Anker PowerCore 10K Power Bank. Right now it can be had for only $17, down from $24.

This power bank features two-way USB-C charging, and a trickle-charging mode optimizes charging for lower-power gadgets such as your earbuds.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

For most of us, myself included, our phones are our lives. They hold all of our contacts, photos, text messages, emails and more. So why cheap out on a charger when you don't have to? At nearly 30% off, this Anker is reliable, portable and inexpensive.

Why do I need this? 🤔

The Anker PowerCore 10K is one of the smallest, lightest power banks on the market. It reliably provides up to two charges for your iPhone or Android device while you're on the go. And since it's the size and weight of my phone itself — at just 8.6 ounces and under 6 inches long, it's easy to throw in my backpack or jacket pocket when I'm out and about.

When I'm in my tent or camper and my iPad battery gets low (my preferred device for reading and editing photos), I can plug it into the Anker and get another full battery and then some. And thanks to this charger, travel has gotten a lot less stressful. No more searching around airports (or for that matter, restaurants or doctor's offices) for the open seat by an outlet.

Sure, I could just remember to charge my phone every night in the hopes that its battery will last the whole day, but nobody's perfect. The PowerCore 10K sure does come close to tech perfection, though, especially at this price. I just might buy a backup or two.

What reviewers say 💬

Over 79,000 happy Amazon customers have given the Anker PowerCore 10K a five-star rating, and shoppers have snapped up over 10,000 of them in the last month alone.

Pros 👍

One of the main standouts of this power bank is dependability, fans say. "I bought this for recharging my phone and GPS while backpacking," said one well-researched reviewer. "I had been using a battery bank with replaceable batteries which seemed like a good idea, but ... this bank charges my iPhone and other devices quicker, and has a very good capacity-to-weight ratio."

Others favor its size, which makes it simple to carry around. "It's super portable and makes it easy to just put it in your purse or bag plugged into your phone and forget about it," mentioned another shopper. "A little heavy and roughly the size of my phone (Galaxy Note 9 for reference). It feels solidly constructed."

"I use it whenever I travel. Sleek look, great battery life," said a third buyer. "Charges my phone and other devices with one charge. Large capacity; I think I can get two to three phone charges out of it each time. Excellent quality as I would expect. Charging cord is durable and easy to connect to [the] AC adapter. Need your own phone and device cords, which is fine by me."

Cons 👎

Some users wish the battery itself would charge up faster. One reviewer wrote, "This took me literally a full day to charge. ... You're also relying on a light system to know how charged it is. Would like to see a percentage somewhere." (According to Anker, a 10-watt charger will fill the battery in 5.5 hours.)

A final fan wished that it came with a few more premium features. "A solid battery bank but lacks quick charging via USB-C to USB-C. That feature [wasn't] promised but there are other battery banks at an equal price point that do."

This portable charger will juice up your iPhone or Android up to two times or your iPad once (with power left over).

This 100-watt charger will juice up your laptop in no time — it needs just 28 minutes to power up a 14-inch MacBook's battery by 50%.

"This charger is the Lamborghini of all device charging blocks," raved one shopper. "It's a super-fast charger, I can have my phone or company iPad charged to 100% in an hour or so from near dead. It’s pretty heavy and extremely well built."

With two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports and two AC outlets, you can efficiently charge up to six devices at once with this sleek power station.

"The main reason I bought this was for travel," said a five-star fan. "Everywhere I go, there is always one outlet that's hard to get to obstructed in some way. This completely eliminates that problem. The thin male end connector lets it squeeze into tight spaces and the multiple ports on the top make it a lifesaver for hotels and airports. I've started using this as my main hub at home because of the fast charging features and how easy it is to use and set up."
