Delta Goodrem's Australia Day performance divides opinion
Delta Goodrem has been slammed for performing on Australia Day, with many fans questioning why she felt the need to celebrate on what is a day of mourning for First Nations people.
The singer shared photos of herself rehearsing for the Australia Day concert at the Opera House with boyfriend and fellow musician Matthew Copley on Monday and then more while she was getting ready to perform on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old performed a string of songs for Australia Day Live 2021, alongside Casey Donovan and Dami Im.
Some fans were excited to see the 36-year-old's return to social media after not posting since Christmas Eve.
"She comes from a Land Down Under," Delta captioned one shot of herself as she prepared to perform at the Opera House.

"We've missed seeing that smile," one fan commented, while another added, "Oh Delta, you're so beautiful."
However, many shared their disappointment over the celebration.
"C'mon Delta, I love you so much, but you should know that Australia Day is not a day of celebration, it's a day of mourning," one follower commented.
"No pride in genocide!" another wrote. "Disappointed to see you celebrating today."
"Really questioning Delta these days, she's performed both at the Melbourne Cup and Australia Day," someone else said. "Two days that are both awful."
"It's disappointing to see such an influential Australian celebrate a day when hundreds of our First Nations people were killed and enslaved," a fourth added. "We need to educate ourselves and others."
"You look beautiful, but I'm disappointed in your choice to celebrate this day," another disappointed fan commented.
"Can only assume you're not in support of Indigenous Australians today?" one user questioned. "Do you know the history of our country?"
"Being silent = being complicit in systemic abuse and human rights breaches," another wrote. "Really disappointed to see you partaking in this denial of ongoing oppression and harm agains First Nation people @deltagoodrem Australia needs kind and intelligent people like you to speak up, not be complicit in perpetuating inequality."
"Not a single mention of Invasion Day, disappointing," someone else added.
It's not the first time Delta has been slammed for celebrating Australia Day. Last year she shared a clip of herself and friends on a boat on Sydney Harbour.
