Demi Engemann isn't shy about her sex life, but there are boundaries.

After Whitney Leavitt gifted Demi a box of Fruity Pebbles — a cheeky inside joke referring to a sex story about herself and husband Bret Engemann — the influencer opened up about her frustrations with how Whitney joked about the situation.

"We're in a little bit of a disagreement over the Fruity Pebbles thing," she tells the other women about her current status with Bret.

"He wasn’t a prude about it. He’s like, ‘I get it, I want you to be excited. I want you to be able to talk about these things, but I don’t want to feel like I have to second-guess what I’m about to do in the bedroom.'"

"I feel bad because I feel like I betrayed him in a way," Demi explains, which the other women seem to sympathize with.

"I take full accountability that I’m the one who opened the can of worms, but it does bother me the way that Whitney went about that. It just felt a little tacky to me."

Speaking with PEOPLE ahead of the show's premiere, Demi opened up about the importance of talking about sex, including those in the Mormon community.

"I recently hosted an event where I talked superficially on how it's such an under-talked about and under-educated topic, and how that is detrimental to the health of a marriage," she shares.

"And so for me, I think the more you talk about it and the more you know, the more power you have and the more you have the ability to change the things that aren't working for you guys and open up that conversation. So I hope that us talking about it and us being vulnerable helps a lot of women."

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is currently streaming on Hulu.
