Updated 15/07/20: Demi Moore has finally addressed social media’s horror after users noticed that her bathroom features a brown shag carpet.

During an interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers earlier this week, the 57-year-old was asked about the squishy carpet in the bathroom of her Idaho home.

'That originally was a Bruce Willis choice, not to put it all on him,’ she told the show’s host.

Moore continued, explaining that she’s kept the carpet because she lives in the mountains ‘where it gets really cold’.

'It doesn't bother me,' she continued. ‘But I appreciate the interest that goes into all of my little oddities.’

Last week, Moore shared photographs of her makeshift office inside her bathroom, causing uproar on social media, with many taking umbrage with her choice of plush flooring for such a wet room.

Demi Moore has caused utter mayhem on Instagram today, after sharing photos of her makeshift bathroom office.

On Thursday, the actress posted a series of photos of herself working remotely from her bathroom on a laptop and wearing a pair of headphones during a conference call.

Sporting a pair glasses and black dungarees, Moore’s ‘work from home’ attire was (thankfully) very similar to ours, but her bathroom seems anything but.

After sharing the snaps, several of the star’s social media followers began to notice the rather bizarre décor of the actress’ work surroundings.

Now, we’re not one to judge an unusual work from home set-up, given the number of Zoom meetings we’ve conducted from the toilet, but it's fair to say that Moore’s ‘office’ is pretty unusual.

For starters, there’s a coffee table and floral-printed sofa in front of the wash basin.

There also appears to be a silver statue near her bathtub, which many followers believe to be that of Joan of Arc, and a monkey teddy bear stuffed into the rock-faced wall above the toilet.

But what has us equally confused as we are queasy, is the fluffy brown carpet…in the bathroom. And it looks like we’re not the only ones.

‘Carpet in the bathroom?’ one user asked on Instagram, which prompted another to comment ‘the amount of germs and bacteria’.

We don't know about you, but the thought of stepping out of the bath with wet feet onto a shag carpet sends shivers down our spines.

Moore’s other followers took to Twitter to express their bewilderment at the actress’ eclectic décor choices.

‘I can't tell if there's a couch in the bathroom or a toilet in the living room,’ one fan stated on Instagram.

Others on Twitter wrote:

On the other hand, some of Moore's followers seemed to be rather into the star's choice of sofa in the bathroom, including British TV presenter Laura Jackson and Pretty Little Liars series writer Marlene King.

At the beginning of lockdown, Moore was social distancing with her famous family and ex-husband Bruce Willis.

During quarantine, the star shared several photos of the family bonding which prompted admiration from her fans who liked how she was working amicably with her former partner to support their family during the pandemic.

‘And this is how it's supposed to be,’ one fan commented on a snap of the family.

‘I love this family you all have created!’ another added.

One wrote: ‘One of my favourite couple/ non couple. Love these two. [sic]’
