Disney star Sebastian Athie dies aged 24

Disney star Sebastian Athie has passed away at the age of 24.

Sebastian was best known for his role as Lorenzo Guevara on Argentinian TV series O11CE, which aired on the Disney Channel. The show was also dubbed in English and went by the name Disney 11.

A statement from The National Association of Actors Mexico revealed the tragic news in a statement, writing: "With deep regret... on behalf of the association [we] report the significant death of Sebastián Athié. He was 24 years old."

"We send a hug of solidarity to his family and friends with our deepest condolences."

Disney Channel LA wrote: "Rest in peace, Sebas. Your art and your smile stay forever. We regret the departure of Sebastián Athié and we will always remember him for his talent, companionship, professionalism and above all, enormous heart. We accompany his family, friends and fans in his farewell."

Disney Channel Latin America and Radio Disney Brazil also shared a statement that read: "Rest in peace, Sebas. Your art and your smile stay forever.

"We regret the departure of Sebastián Athié and we will always remember him for his talent, companionship, professionalism and above all, enormous heart."

"We accompany his family, friends and fans in his farewell."

Sebastian's former co-star, Santiago Stieben, took to social media and said: "I am very sad indeed. I was hesitant to make this video.

"But I feel like I want to share with everyone the love I have for you. My hug to your family, my best memories with you always.

"To be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."

Another of Sebastian's co-star's Daniel Panitio also shared his heartbreak on Instagram, "Noble souls do not die and your light will be eternal, passion, discipline and love, so I will remember you, my roomie, my friend, my brother."

"God have your holy glory. I do not understand many times his plans, and for the first time I it makes you feel to lose a brother, life I owe you a lot, I will miss you."

At this stage, the cause of Sebastian's death is unknown.
