Disruption to daily life and some services on Jersey will continue on Monday due to the impact of Storm Ciarán.

More than 150 displaced residents remain in hotel accommodation after being evacuated from their homes.

The government has told islanders to work from home on Monday if possible to ease congestion.

Samarès School, Hautlieu School and Victoria College will remain closed due to damage caused by the high winds.

Some school bus and walking routes may also have changed.

The Commodore Goodwill and Clipper both docked in Jersey at the weekend and fresh food and deliveries have been distributed to stores.

Household recycling services will be closed on Monday and and Tuesday "to help cope with a huge amount of green and commercial waste", a government spokesperson said.

People are still advised to travel with care, using main routes where possible, as some parish routes remain impassable or will only be passable in one direction.

Islanders are also advised to leave more time for journeys and be conscious of road conditions.

People using Wellington Road and the grounds of Victoria College are urged to take extra care, where debris remains.

Coronation Park and Howard Davis Park suffered storm damage and will remain closed until the trees are made safe.

The Railway Walk area is closed and remains unsafe due to fallen trees, debris, and other hazards.

Thousands of tiles were ripped off St Nicholas Church in St Clement and its bell-tower also toppled over.

Jersey Met Office has confirmed that the weather forecast remains unsettled with wet and windy weather and many structures and trees may be unstable and fragile.

Ground conditions may also cause issues, weakening tree roots further.
