MATT HARMON: I feel like DK Metcalf will be one of the toughest evaluations in fantasy at the wide receiver position this year. On one hand, we know he's really good at the game, right? He's an explosive talent. He's going to win from that X receiver position. He can do just about everything you want, however, there's a huge turnover here at the quarterback situation.
I mean, we're talking about Geno Smith and Drew Lock. That is not a series solution. It's not a serious quarterback battle in the year 2022. It's just not something you want to see if you're banking on DK Metcalf in fantasy football.
That said, the good part about Seattle's offense despite Wilson's exit is that this should remain a really highly concentrated passing game between DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. So there's a lot of good and one real big ugly part of the DK Metcalf, and frankly Tyler Lockett evaluation, and that is the quarterback position. How efficient are those targets going to be even if they are bankable?
You should still see that pretty much like 50/50 5% target share split between Metcalf and Lockett. It's just the efficiency could be really bad from guys, especially Drew Lock. I mean, come on. That's ridiculous.
So I'm having a really tough time clicking him at ADP. I think he will be a super volatile player this year. I've still got him around 90 catches and over 1,000 yards. But right now he's my wide receiver 20, and again, I think a risky bet at ADP.
