Domestic abuser caught after police dog chase through woodland river

Police bodycam has captured the moment a violent domestic abuser was caught following a foot pursuit by officers and a police dog through woodland and rivers near Tunbridge Wells.

Luke Seffens, 34, led officers on a chase on 31 July last year after fleeing arrest for breaching bail terms by continuing to contact a woman he had violently beaten in an unprovoked attack in December 2023, during a period of sustained abuse in which he threatened to stab and strangle her.

Seffens was jailed for nearly 5 years after pleading guilty to charges including false imprisonment, engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and escape from lawful custody.
