Inside Donald and Melania's 'very strange' marriage
They’ve been married for 15 years but a former Trump aide has claimed Donald and Melania’a relationship is ‘very strange’.
Omarosa Manigault Newman, who first met Trump when she appeared on The Apprentice in 2007, went on to become Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison.
Omarosa, who has written a book called Unhinged about her time in the administration, appeared on the UK TV show Lorraine, where she spilled some more details on Trump's marriage.
“It's a very strange marriage,” she said.
“I'm very cautious to comment on the dynamics of a marriage because you never know what goes on behind closed doors. But I have known this couple since they were dating, they got married a year after The Apprentice aired.
“What I have observed in the last 17 years would make your head spin. Sometimes they like each other but sometimes she is repulsed by him.”
It’s not the first time the Trumps have come up against rumours about their marriage.
Last year, Michael Wolff - author of Siege: Trump Under Fire - made the explosive claim that the First Lady not only never wanted to set foot in the White House, but is quite happy leading a ‘separate life’ from her husband, an arrangement that also seems to suit the President just fine.

“I never saw any evidence of a marriage,” said Steve Bannon, a former advisor and the director of the President’s 2016 campaign.
Mr Bannon also mentioned that from the President’s perspective, Melania rarely factored into decision making in any capacity.
He told the author that any reference to the First Lady, “drew a puzzled look from Trump, as if to say, ‘How is she relevant?’”
However, Mr Bannon also admitted to having no contact with the President for over a year, leading some to question his authority on the subject of his personal life.
Last week, the First Lady was forced to defend herself after her former friend, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who wrote a tell-all book about their relationship, called Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with The First Lady.
Melania hit back saying Stephanie "hardly knew me" and accused her of trying to distort my character."
The Justice Department have also filed suit against Stephianie, with the arthur telling NBC News: "I find it puzzling that the first lady of the United States asked someone she 'hardly knew' to attend her nuptials, join her for countless lunches, help plan the presidential inauguration, stay over at the White House and Mar-a-Lago, and act as her senior advisor."
This week, Melania has also come up against conspiracy theories that there is a ‘fake Melania’ who fills in for the First Lady sometimes.
A photograph, taken on August 22, showed Melania and her husband, Donald Trump boarding Marine One in Washington.
However, fans were convinced it wasn’t Melania Trump in the snap, claiming it was a body double wearing the large oversized glasses and smiling.
