This is the shocking moment a JCB digger driven by a “drunk” man rammed into a house and car in a Welsh street.
Neighbours watched in horror as the digger repeatedly ploughed into the house on the street in Woodfield, Blackwood, south Wales, on Tuesday.
The driver rammed into a silver Ford Focus on the house's driveway – almost flipping it over with the digger's bucket.
Footage filmed by onlookers shows the driver holding his phone calmly behind the wheel of the JCB as he carries out the bizarre attack.
A man and woman emerge from the house and appear stunned as they wave their hands – seemingly pleading for the driver to stop.
At one point the man bangs on the window of the cab before putting his hands on his head in despair.
The clip of the incident was filmed by workmen parked in a van nearby and later uploaded online. A voice from the van can be heard saying: "Got it all on film for you, alright mate? Got it all on film.”
Another voice says: "Get his registration."
Neighbours in the street are mystified by the attack and estimated the damage as "at least £50,000”.
One said: "Nobody knows what the hell it is all about about. But there is a lot of damage to the house and to the car.”
The neighbour said there was “no love lost” between the driver and the people in the house, who have temporarily relocated while an investigation is carried out.
Gwent Police confirmed they were investigating the ram raid and had arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage and drink driving.
A police force spokesman said: "At approximately 12.20pm we received a report of criminal damage being caused to a house in Woodfield, Blackwood.
"A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and drink driving and is currently in custody being questioned."
