The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge publicly congratulated Princess Beatrice after she married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi last week. The couple weren't present at the intimate ceremony, but they shared their well wishes regardless.

The small wedding took place at the All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park on Friday 17 July with strict social-distancing measures in place and just 20 guests present, including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. The bride wore a vintage Norman Hartnell gown, loaned to her by the queen.

Kate and William posted a sweet message on Instagram Stories, sharing one of the official wedding pictures along with a "Just Married" banner.

Among the guests at the royal ceremony were the couple's parents and siblings, as well as Mozzi's best man and page boy, his son, Wolfie.

It is believed to be the first time the Queen and Prince Philip have attended a family gathering since lockdown began.

Current government guidelines prohibit weddings larger than 30 people, which is why the guest list was kept to a minimum. The couple were due to tie the knot at the Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace at the end of May, but cancelled the ceremony in March due to the pandemic.
