Bad news, guys. We're going to have to wait even longer to see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Jungle Cruise.

The actor confirmed on his Twitter page today (October 19) that the official release date for the movie, which also stars Emily Blunt, has been pushed back to 2020 after it was initially expected to hit cinemas on October 11, 2019.

The Rock didn't address the reason for the push back in his post, but did confirm the new release date of July 24, 2020 in the video posted to his account.

He tweeted: "IT'S OFFICIAL - JULY 24th, 2020. Ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages. My partner in crime, Emily Blunt and I, lovingly invite you to join us for THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME.

"All aboard... @DisneyStudios JUNGLE CRUISE."

The new video comes not long after Disney shared a sneak peek at the new film on social media in August in which the former wrestler gave fans a look at the set, which he said had been "years-in-the-making".

As well as The Rock and Emily, the film also stars Jack Whitehall and American Crime Story actor Edgar Ramirez.

Jungle Cruise will hit cinemas on July 24, 2020.
