EastEnders fans are concerned that Dot Branning (June Brown) may be leaving the show for good, after the character left Walford.

On Thursday's episode (October 13), soap icon Dot told her nearest and dearest she would be departing Albert Square to go and visit her granddaughter Dotty and her family in The Mumbles, near Swansea.

While explaining the trip was in order to recuperate after fracturing her femur in a fall, there was concern from her family about whether Dot would be returning to the Square at all.

Indeed, while viewers saw Dot decide to spend some time away from Walford, they didn't see her reveal when she would be back, as Dot wouldn't specify when she would be returning when asked by a concerned Robbie.

But will she be back? (The suspense is killing us).

The good news is... yes! Eastenders has confirmed the chain-smoking matriarch will be returning to Walford in no time at all.

"Dot will be back on our screens very soon," a show insider told Digital Spy.

Phew!

Eastenders continues tonight (Friday, October 13) on BBC One.
