Christmas is coming to EastEnders but, as ever, there’ll be little in the way of peace and goodwill. At this time of year, it’s always a case of ho-ho-oh-no! in Walford and fans shouldn’t expect 2021 to be any different.
So, let’s break the drama down, so we can see which characters will be in focus over the festive season:
The Trueman-Foxes’ wedding day drama
Two brides are headed to the altar with a double wedding planned, but there’s no guarantee that anyone will get to say, “I do”.
As things stand, Denise and Jack appear to be the more solid of the two couples set to get spliced. But let’s not forget that Denise knows more about Vincent Hubbard’s untimely demise than she’s letting on, having been shown footage of his untimely demise by Phil.
And with Kim determined to expose Mr Mitchell’s crimes, things may well turn out to be uncomfortable for her sis.

Also anticipating their nuptials are Gray and Chelsea, but Whitney is aware that the groom hasn’t exactly been keeping his fiancée in the loop about the state of his finances.
Whit is set to follow her gut instinct on the day itself – but the bigger issue is whether Gray’s heinous murders will also end up being exposed. He’s already responsible for the deaths of wife Chantelle, Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi, but will he now be brought to book or end up adding to his body count?
Rocky is under pressure at Sonia’s
There’s deceit around one meal table, with Rocky trying to keep up appearances in front of “daughter” Sonia as he wrestles with the guilt he feels for trying to scam her out of Dot’s cash.
As we’ve seen, Rocky has grown increasingly fond of Sonia, despite not being her biological dad at all. But as he shares the day with her and Kathy, there’s a big risk that the truth will come out.
Because, for Rocky, the strain of the situation is now definitely starting to show. And the arrival of an unwanted guest is threatening to spoil more than just the dinner. EastEnders is currently keeping the identity of this person under wraps, but fingers crossed it’s Carol (though, let’s face it, it’s far more likely to be Dotty).
Janine wants attention
There’ll be no prizes for predicting where Janine will be: on Santa’s naughty list, as per. But she’s also determined to remain in the spotlight, with the explanation she’s giving being that daughter Scarlett deserves a Christmas to remember.
But with Janine, there’s always an ulterior motive – so watch out for Mrs Claus transforming into Mrs Claws as she seeks out attention elsewhere, too.
Kat’s Christmas with Phil to be ruined by Sharon?
Someone who ought to be smiling is Kat, who’s about to be sharing her first Christmas with Phil. Yes, the Square’s unlikeliest couple have made it through to December unscathed.
But the countdown to the 25th looks set to be fraught, with Sharon set to be leaning on Phil for support as she wrangles over the future of little Alyssa.
Phil has experienced some hellish Christmases in the past, but it’s looking increasingly likely that he’ll make life difficult for himself once again as he spends time with his ex-wife rather than concentrating on Kat.
