Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher among 2022 Brit Awards performers

Ed Sheeran is set to take to the stage at this year’s Brit Awards.

The ‘Shape Of You’ singer is part of a star-studded line-up for the show on February 8, which includes Dave, Holly Humberstone, Doja Cat and Little Simz.

Liam Gallagher will also be performing, and tweeted his fans to say that he hoped they would be watching.

“I’m gonna be preforming my new single Everything’s Electric at the Brit Awards this year and I’d appreciate it if you stopped what you were doing and tuned in cheers,” he said.

Little Simz, who is up for four awards including Artist of the Year, said it was “an honour” to be nominated and that she “can’t wait” to get on stage at the awards show.

“I'm so happy and grateful the music has connected and resonated,” she said.

Organisers have said that there will be a number of COVID measures at the ceremony, which honours the best of music for the past year.

Artists, nominees and all guests will be asked to show a negative lateral flow test test when they arrive at the venue.

Audience members will not be socially distanced but will be asked to wear their masks when not eating or drinking, or in their seats.

The Brit Awards 2022 with Mastercard take place on February 8 at The O2 Arena in London.

The show will be broadcast on ITV and ITV Hub and will be hosted by Mo Gilligan.
