Emirates passenger's 'entitled' move sparks debate

A passenger on an Emirates flight is being shamed for their "inconsiderate" act mid-flight, though some people are defending them.

A picture of the very comfortable passenger was shared to Twitter by a man named Paul, who was sitting a few seats away from the woman.

The passenger is seen sitting with her legs up in the air and feet resting on the headrest in front, with their boots still on.

Amazingly, the passenger in front of the woman remained asleep the whole time, oblivious to the boots right near their head, Paul said. He added he was flying with Emirates and Qantas.

People were quick to share their outrage at the passenger.

One person said the passenger's position was a "worrying lack of consideration for others", another said it was "ignorance personified".

However, not everyone was critical of the passenger

"Actually that person could suffer from all sorts of conditions that require her legs to be up when flying," one person said.

"There are various conditions that are aided by legs being up in the air (no pun intended)."

"Is she really harming anyone?" someone questioned.

"Allow me to put my feet on your head and ask me again," Paul replied.

A few people asked Paul whether he raised the issue with his fellow passenger, but he quipped he "just did it for the clicks".

"I did the standard tutting and sharp glances," he also said.

Many also wrote they would have said something if they witnessed such a sight while up in the air, and many were curious to know whether a flight attendant intervened.

One person in the comments of Paul's post said they had a similar experience recently.

"I had her or someone like her on my last flight. She started to sit cross-legged. I told her to put her feet down, she had a foot on my seat. She gave me a dirty look and no apology but put her feet down," he explained.

"I get that long flights are uncomfortable but what is with some people?"

There's been a lot of instances of people not respecting personal space on planes of late.

People with long hair have been criticised on social media for allowing their locks to fall down the back of their seats, annoying the person sitting behind them.

One instance of this was branded as "inconsiderate and unnecessary".
