Emma Willis has confirmed her new presenting gig with Simon Cowell.

When rumours first emerged that the two were going to be working together, some fans assumed the Big Brother guru had been pinched from The Voice UK to host The X Factor instead.

But it was later revealed that wasn't the case, and in fact, Simon had asked Emma to be the face of his new ITV music show, Your Song.

The series tells the stories of extraordinary people who are nominated by their friends and families to receive the performance of a lifetime from their favourite artist.

Opening up about the programme on ITV's Lorraine, Emma said: "Music means so much to people. Obviously, there are various reasons that made me want to do this show but the fact that it focuses on human interest stories is everything.

"I mean, I love people, that's why I do Big Brother and The Voice. This show brings people and music together so it's just brilliant."

The artists that are taking part in the new series include Rita Ora, Paloma Faith, Little Mix, The Script and James Arthur.

Although Simon is the boss of the new show, Emma confessed she's never actually met him.

She said: "I couldn't tell you what he's like. I've not met him but I have been in the same room with him at the National Television Awards. Years ago when I first started out, I was on a red carpet and managed to grab one question with him, but that was it. And it was about 15 years ago!"

While Emma will be the face of Your Song, she reassured fans she will still continue to present The Voice UK as well.

Commenting on news that Olly Murs has been confirmed as a new addition to the judging panel, she sounded delighted.

"He is going to be fantastic," she said. "He is such a lovely bloke and will bring a brilliant energy. He knows the UK music industry inside and out so he will be perfect."

Lorraine is on ITV, weekdays at 8.30am.
