Fans believe Meghan and Harry have hinted at baby's gender

Meghan Markle fans have gone into inspector mode after believing the Duchess of Sussex was hinting at the gender of her and Prince Harry's second baby in their recent video appearance.

The 39-year-old was seen wearing a large pink sapphire ring during her and Harry's video call during Spotify's Stream On event earlier this week.

The large ring from the brand Ecksand features an ethically-sourced 6.00 carat stone with a recycled 18k gold band with 0.20 diamond pave.

And fans are convinced the pink stone is hinting at the fact she may be expecting a girl.

"Is the 'pink' ring an 'indication/hint' that it might be a little girl?" one fan asked on Instagram.

"Could this be a clue about baby Sussexx????! Praying for a safe, healthy delivery and birth for mother and baby, whether it's a girl or a boy!" another wrote.

Some fans were adamant about the pink ring indicating a girl with one user writing, "Wow, thanks! Now we know, it's a girl!"

"It means that she will have a girl!" another wrote.

It comes as the Queen endures what has been a difficult week with Harry and Meghan permanently leaving the royal family and her husband Prince Philip continuing his stay in hospital.

“It’s been a rough few weeks for the queen, that’s for sure,” a royal source told Us Weekly.

“The situation with Harry and Meghan has been challenging, and on top of that, she’s distraught over her beloved husband’s health setback.”

Another source claimed there had been some "tearful moments".

"Emotions are definitely running high," they told the publication.

The Queen has been isolating at Windsor Castle, with Buckingham Palace not sharing whether Her Majesty will make the 41km journey to visit her husband.

Due to the pandemic, visitors are being kept to a minimum so as not to spread Covid to already sick patients.

The hospital has said visitors would only be allowed in "exceptional circumstances" which has royal fans concerned that if the Queen did visit Philip, it could mean his health has taken a turn for the worse.

Buckingham Palace on Wednesday revealed the cause of Prince Philip's hospitalisation.

"The Duke of Edinburgh remains at King Edward VII’s Hospital where he is receiving medical attention for an infection," the palace said in a statement shared with HuffPost.

"He is comfortable and responding to treatment but is not expected to leave hospital for several days."
