Smith could not continue the fight because of that gnarly, bloody damage to his left ear that left him looking like Holyfield.

Best wishes to Smith on a full recovery.
It certainly was an eventful weekend in the boxing world.
Vasyl Lomachenko retained his WBO super-featherweight title after beating Guillermo Rigondeaux by TKO on Sunday.
Ukrainian Lomachenko (10-1) dominated for six rounds at The Theater at Madison Square Garden before Rigondeaux called it quits, citing a left hand injury.
Rigondeaux was labelled 'weak' and 'gutless' for his decision to stop, as one of the most anticipated fights of 2017 ended in controversy.
Meanwhile, British phenom Daniel Dubois scored his sixth-straight knockout, destroying another opponent in frightening fashion.
Luis Ortiz and Deontay Wilder also went face-to-face in a heated confrontation after the former's brutal knockout.
