When buying a streaming device, the Apple TV has always been a safe, if not particularly exciting bet.

If you're already knee-deep in Apple's ecosystem and like things ultra-simplified, it's the way to go. But the decision always came with a caveat – unlike other set-top streamers, from Fire TV to the PS4, Apple TV couldn't stream Amazon Prime Video.

So it's good news that today Amazon Prime Video is finally available for Apple TV, 3rd generation and above. CEO Tim Cook announced that the app would finally be arriving on Apple TV back in June at WWDC, but with no release date mentioned it was anyone's guess if it'd even show up in 2017.

Because the app is still rolling out to users, it's possible it may take some time to show up on your tvOS app store, but it should be available soon.

Apple TV 4K is £179 (32GB) and £199 (64GB)
