Floating Hope cheers up Czechs

Hope, accompanied by Epoque Orchestra, performed the "Vivaldi Recomposed" by Max Richter, a piece offering new approach to one of the world's best known compositions - the Four Seasons.

Spectators gathered at the floating open-air concert venue, on boats and lining the river banks of the Vltava river.

They were also served the world premiere of a similar take on the Czech composer Bedrich Smetana's piece named after the river.

Against the backdrop of the Prague Castle silhouette and overlooked by the imposing National Theatre complex, the concert provided a respite from daily COVID-19 data showing a worrying spread in the country at a pace second only to that of Spain in recent weeks.

The concert was a part of the Strings of Autumn annual festival of classic music.
