The First Pictures Of The Funfetti Cereal Are Here And It Looks Like Everything We Imagined

We've been waiting for the Funfetti cereal since we caught wind of the launch back in April, and now the day is closer than ever. The cereal will officially hit shelves the third week of August, and some of the first photos of the actual cereal prove it's totally going to be worth the wait.
@Threesnackateers posted a photo of their Instagram page of the box an a close up shot of the pieces and boy does it look like the cereal of my dreams. The pieces look big and crunchy and are speckled with little tiny confetti sprinkles, just like any Funfetti product.

Though it may sound like it would be overwhelmingly sweet for some, @Threesnackateers said the flavor is more vanilla forward than anything else. "This is a simple, but good cereal. It has a really strong vanilla smell, some fun little confetti sprinkles and a sweet, vanilla flavor," they wrote in the caption.
It's official, I'm sold! Keep your eyes peeled in two weeks to get the cereal for yourselves. Until then, you might as well whip up some Funfetti blondies to pregame the release.
Update, May 14, 2020 10:24 a.m.: After what seems like AGES of waiting (OK, it was more like two weeks) we have confirmation that Funfetti cereal is INDEED coming and, guys, it'll be here very soon.
Hometown Food Company announced that this delicious breakfast creation would be coming to shelves in August. The release said that the cereal would be made with "bright colors and remaining true to the Funfetti cake taste," which means, YES, this will taste like having a bowl of cake for breakfast.
The cereal will come in a massive 17-ounce family-sized box which will retail for $3.50 - $5.50 depending on where you buy it. We already know it's going to be sold at Walmart but as August creeps closer, I know I'll be keeping my eyes peeled on the cereal aisle no matter where I am!
Original, April 30, 2020 1:18 pm.: If you haven't just straight-up eaten cake for breakfast, you've probably come pretty close...come on, pancakes have CAKE in the name. But in case you needed another way to sneak some extra sugar into your mornings, it looks like everyone's favorite boxed cake is being made over into a cereal.
It looks like Walmart has been spotted selling a Funfetti-flavored cereal and it's a truly beautiful thing. From the looks of it, the cereal is made with little balls that are filled with sprinkles, much like Funfetti cake mix.

Though you're probably already dreaming of digging into a big bowl of these with a splash of milk, I'm thinking these would also be amazing in you baked goods or other desserts. Think of these adorning the top of a delicious frosted Funfetti cake. Or maybe you can use these crumbled on top of ice cream. I dunno, I'm just excited!
The bad news is, this already appears to be sold out online on Walmart.com and we don't know a ton else about it! We reached out to Pillsbury Baking for more information and will update this post when and if we hear back. You might be able to spot this at your local Walmart for around $3.64 but for now, it looks like we'll all just have to practice a little patience.
If you're really looking for something delicious and similar, there's always Funfetti pancake mix. YUM.
