Game of Thrones' series seven finale trailer proves once and for all that Winter is Here.

Fresh off one of the most action-packed and heartbreaking episodes in the Primetime Emmy Award-winning show's history, next week looks to be intriguing and just as key to the show's endgame (but in a completely different way).

While it was technically spoiled by Game of Thrones' costumer of all people, the long-awaited reunion of Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will finally take place in just one week. To make things extra awkward, Cersei's estranged brother Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) is there too.

All of these forces, along with Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) representing Sansa, converge in a dragon pit to see evidence of the Night King's army first hand in the form of a captured wight. Despite their competing agendas, Jon wants to make one thing clear.

"There is only one war that matters. And it is here," he warns.

With Viserion having now fallen into the control of the Night King and Jon Snow heading back to Westeros with irrefutable proof of the army of the dead, the stage has been set for the most game-changing series finale in Game of Thrones' history.

Luckily, show bosses David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have penned the longest GoT finale ever - clocking in at nearly 90 minutes- to set the stage for the beginning of the end.

However, fans are in for a very different type of finale following this week's violent episode, seeing as there is not expected to be any major battle sequences.

Game of Thrones finishes off its seventh season next Sunday (August 27) with a movie-length finale at 9pm on HBO in the US. It will be simulcast at 2am on Sky Atlantic on Monday (August 28) in the UK.
