Gardening dad 'making a good income' sends message to younger Aussies: 'S**t job'
Joel Marsh, 39, believes it's a win-win situation working a job you're 'passionate' about.
After 18 years of plodding through one uninspiring job after the next, an Aussie man has finally landed in a career that makes him feel like he "doesn't work a day in his life" — and he's urging other struggling Aussies to do the same by offering one simple piece of advice.
Joel Marsh, 39, spent the best part of two decades pinballing between a job as a carpenter, studying to get his builder's licence that he later didn't use, and working as a projects manager for people who "didn't really like me" until he went back to the job he had long wanted to do, but choose not to because of other people's opinions.
Now he's a full-time gardener and is "living his dream".
"I feel like I am leaving an impact on people's lives by providing them a space that both they and I care about," the Adelaide man told Yahoo News. "I'm making a good income because I'm passionate about what I do and that shows in my work."

Marsh, who is a father of two, explained he had long wanted to be a gardener but other people's opinions stopped him from going for it, explaining that an ex-girlfriend's brother "laughed at him" when he shared his aspirations of working as a gardener.
