Evie Clair had the whole auditorium – including the judges – on their feet after she pulled off an incredibly moving tribute to her father, who has been diagnosed with cancer.
The 13-year-old arrived on the stage with a grin on her face but it wasn’t long before she descended into tears when the judges asked her the real reason she was trying out for the show.
Evie started to describe to Simon how her father had been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer and was still working every day to provide for the family.
“They gave him a 5 percent chance to live, and he still continued working and supporting our family,” she said.
“So tonight, I’m here to sing for him.”
The 13-year-old then put her heart and soul into a rendition of Christina Perri’s song ‘Arms’ which left everyone in tears.
