Glam female pilot lives the high life

Meet the glamourous female pilot living the high life, jetting around the world in style.

Flavia Lucilio flies up to fours times a week and has taken routes across South America, Asia, East Europe, Africa and the Middle East, having worked for an airline since 2009.

"Being a pilot is very exciting. The job is thrilling and the views outstanding,” Flavia said.

"I am able to visit new places, learn cultures and meet new people.

"During days off and leave I also make use of the staff travel benefits to go a new destination and enjoy.

"For me it's a big honour to be a lady in this majority-male career.”

Flavia said her father was an aviation enthusiast and greatly influenced her love of flying.

"I have one young brother and my father always provided us the same opportunities, being a girl was never a limitation or excuse,” she said.

She started her training at 17-years-old and landed her first job at 19, as a flight instructor.

At 21-years-old she got her first airline job jetting around South America.

She has since spread her wings and worked in Hong Kong, flying across Asia, and now in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi.

"I often get feedback from women all around the world saying how my achievements as a pilot support and inspire them to pursue their dreams and to be more confident in themselves,” she said.

"If I am able to inspire people in a good way, I am definitely very happy because I reckon that's the kind of feeling and energy we need in the world nowadays."
