Glam gran, 59, strips down for modelling gigs across the globe
A glamourous 59-year-old, who previously refused to wear a bikini, kickstarted her lingerie modelling career at 53 – and now strips down for shoots across the globe.
Stunning Nicola Griffin, from Mapperley, Nottingham, thanks her long luscious silver locks for helping her bag her first modelling shoot six years ago.
Mum-of-two Nicola has since jetted to the US, Capetown and across Europe to model for magazines and in fashion shows and doesn’t plan on retiring any time soon.
After spending her younger years hiding her figure, she said she now couldn’t be happier to showcase her svelte frame after she was scouted while at the bank.
“I thought ‘why would anyone want to see me in that?’ But now five years later, my mindset has completely changed and I love it,” Nicola said.
“I was terribly insecure throughout my 30’s and 40’s but now I have no problems in doing a lingerie shoot, I am proud of who I am.
“Some people have been negative about my modelling, as they claim someone in their 50’s should be retiring but I am just warming up.
“I will stop the day I die, I’m not planning on giving up any time soon.”
Former online businesswoman Nicola believes her modelling career with MiLK Management was a ‘miracle’.
She works out every other day – using weights to keep herself toned – and eats a healthy diet but said her look is appealing because she has a ‘normal’ body.
“Never in a million years did I think I would be doing lingerie shoots, but my confidence is now sky high and I have accepted my body for what it is,” she said.
“My body is nothing to shout about, I am a normal woman who doesn’t have a rock-hard body which is why women can relate to me.
“You must be fit to get up and go to the airport at 3am for a shoot in Italy which will require standing on your feet all day.
“For me, the future is bright and as I approach 60, I feel enthusiastic about my exciting career ahead. It’s just the beginning.”
