Glamour model says ‘free nudes’ are threatening her job
Glamour model Jasmin Shojai has called on women to stop posting nude photos of themselves online.
The 23-year-old says posting images of their bodies for free, means professionals like her are losing out and getting paid less for magazine-style shoots.
Jasmin, who is Australia’s Top Glamour Model for 2017, says if men can get images on social media completely free, why would they spend money to buy nude magazines.
“Women who are photographed for magazines now are paid so much less than they used to be – or are expected to do it for free,” she told the Daily Mail.
“I don't want to tell anyone what to do but they have to know they are destroying the industry.”
Jasmin has been modelling for two years and says models ‘used to be paid thousands’ to strip on camera, whereas now they are often asked to do so for free.
The model, who lives in Canberra, said things have gone downhill quickly as more people take their clothes off to post sultry images on social media.
She urges women to stop putting these ‘sexualised’ images online and stick to lingerie or a bikini, so that professional glamour models will be seen as 'valuable again'.
