GoT stars Kit and Rose are engaged
It was the on-screen romance that sparked a thousand memes — and now, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are engaged!
The actors first stirred rumours in 2012 with their fictional Game of Thrones characters Jon Snow and Ygritte. Though they reportedly split after a year, they later reconciled in April 2016, storming the red carpet at the Olivier Awards in London.
Harington, 30, opened up about the early days of the romance, which while filming in Iceland for season 2. The actor admitted that those weeks were his favourite of the series, and for good reason - it was where he fell in love.
“If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love,” Kit told Vogue Italia.
In June Kit revealed that Rose and him had moved in together, even calling her his "best friend".
“I’ve moved in with my other best friend, Rose,” he said. “I’m very, very happy and it’s going well. She has all sorts of ideas for the house.”
Rose, meanwhile, also touched upon her relationship with Kit in an interview with People, calling him a "lovely, funny man".
“Kit is dear friend,” she said. “We had known each other before we started working together on Game of Thrones. It was always such a privilege to be working opposite him and such a blessing that we get on in real life because it made our characters more believable.”
