The Greatest Dancer's live shows are fast approaching, and the show has teased that next week the judges will be forced to whittle down the dancers to just nine acts.

New teaser images show judges Oti Mabuse, Matthew Morrison and Cheryl deliberating over which dancers to take through to the final, with the judges each being able to pick pick three acts to mentor in the live shows.

And there's good news if you're one of the viewers at home shouting at the television when the studio audience have failed to vote through talented dancers, as you'll be pleased to hear that a public vote will now determine which of those final nine acts will sail through to the final stages of the competition.

Each judge will pick three dancers to mentor, but will your favourite make it through?

Viewers have already been showing a lot of love for deaf dancer Chris Fonseca and 80-year-old ballet dancer Barbara Peters – but will Cheryl, Oti and Matthew choose them to progress to the next stage of the competition?

Elsewhere, judges Cheryl and Oti Mabuse let slip a massive spoiler about the live shows' format on The One Show.

Cheryl revealed that she and her fellow judges would be dancing with the nine finalists, so we can definitely expect some show-stopping performances.

The Greatest Dancer will be hoping that the format shake-ups for the live shows will boost the show's shaky ratings. The news of Cheryl, Oti and Matthew taking to the dancefloor may well turn things around.

The Greatest Dancer final nine will be revealed on Saturday, January 26 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
