Tuesday is apparently the new Friday, after the BRIT Awards went down last night [18 February] at London's O2 arena. And as well as awkward ceremony moments - and lots of incredible outfits - there are probably some very sore celebrity heads this morning.

But while we all thought BBC Radio 1's Greg James was one of those people suffering from a sore head because he didn't turn up to his morning show, we now know that's definitely not the case - it was actually just a big stunt.

In a new video uploaded to his Twitter account, he told fans: "Last night at the BRITs afterparty I was captured, blindfolded and put in a car and driven over an hour or so away to a building that contains this white room."

He went on: "I’ve been captured and I’m in as in the dark as you are with all this. I’m in the same stuff I was wearing last night at the BRITs. I’ve since learned it’s a thing called ‘Who's got Greg?’... and it requires you to be the detectives and, with me, work out who from the BRITs captured me and took me here. When we work that out, I can escape."

Greg was due to appear on his radio show from 6:30-10:00 this morning, but was a no-show. A listener shared a video on Twitter that revealed Adele Roberts had actually stepped in for him. "Good morning everybody! Hello there! It's the Radio One Breakfast Show with Adele Roberts," she said on air.

"I can't actually believe this is happening! Somebody actually tweeted my show saying, 'Do you fancy doing an impromptu breakfast show?' and I jokingly said yes. Well here we are. Who's laughing now? Not me!

"Greg James is a no show. A dirty little no show! Has anybody seen him?" she added, clearly in on it.

Adele later reassured listeners Greg was fine, adding "Please don't worry about Greg James. He is definitely safe and sound.. he is just very much asleep."

While presenter Jordan North added: "He's in a lot of trouble. It's the biggest breakfast show in the world and he hasn't turned up." Interestingly, Greg's wife Bella later tweeted that he hadn't come home, adding, "Husband didn’t come home last night."

Of course, this isn't the first time BBC Radio One have pulled stunts which involve Hide and Seek style games, where listeners have to try and locate presenters hidden somewhere around the UK.

The idea of missing work due to a raging post-BRITs hangover sounds much better, right?
