Hilary Duff is now a mother-of-three!
The "Younger" star and husband Matthew Koma announced the birth of their second daughter over the weekend by sharing a sweet family photo of their happy family to social media.
The 33-year-old star took to Instagram to share an intimate, black and white photo of the actress and her family welcoming their latest addition, while still sitting in a birthing pool presumably moments after giving birth.
"Mae James Bair - We LOVE you beauty 3-24-21," she captioned the post.
The former Disney star received praise from fans for sharing the candid family moment with fans and for choosing to deliver her third child at home.
"Hilary duff having her second home water birth, here for it!," one fan tweeted.
"Natural births are so empowering. Good job mama and dad! Beautiful family," someone commented.
"Love that your daughter was with you in the water for the experience!," another shared.
"How birth should be," added another.
While most applauded Duff for opting for a natural, home birth, having her two-year-old daughter, Banks, in the tub with her left many fans divided.
"I don't think Banks should be in that water," one person commented.
"Should Banks really be in that water?," questioned another.
"I wouldn't want my toddler in the tub with me during that!," someone else sounded off.
"The sibling in the water, too...," another wrote, along with a vomiting emoji.
"Banks in the water too is kind of gross," another person chimed in.
"I love Hilary Duff so much, but having her daughter in the pool with her during her water birth was pretty disgusting? I don't know," one fan tweeted.
Another fan pointed out that it's possible the photo was staged, and that Banks was not actually in the water while Duff was giving birth.
"It's likely a photo opportunity. Possibly even the next day. Why are we so concerned by this it sounds like naysayers past traumas and self-shame that they need to work on," they wrote.
In December, Duff opened up to People about her third pregnancy, noting that since it was her second home birth, so she felt a lot more comfortable this time around.
"This pregnancy feels easier," she said. "We were kind of just there with Banks."
Back in 2018, the actress shared the details of her first natural birth on Dr. Elliot Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy podcast.
“It was, like, five pushes,” she said. “That part didn’t hurt as bad as I thought it was going to.”
Duff added that amid her struggle to remain calm, she may have snapped at her husband, Matthew Koma, for telling her to "relax."
"'You have to shut up. You’re going to die if you say that again!,'” she admitted she said to him at the time.
