Hoda Kotb Calls Ex Joel Schiffman the 'Best Dad' as She Shares Sweet Father's Day Photo of Him with Daughters

The former couple is parents to daughters Hope and Haley

Hoda Kotb enjoyed Father's Day with her entire family.

On Sunday, June 16, the Today co-host, 59, posted a photo on Instagram of her ex Joel Schiffman and their two daughters, Hope, 4, and Haley, 7, as they celebrated the summer holiday together. Schiffman was pictured sitting on the couch, putting an arm around both of his girls as the three smiled for the sweet photo.

"Happy father’s day to the best dad!" Kotb wrote in her caption.

Kotb and Schiffman, a financier, began dating quietly for a couple of years before going public in 2015. The couple announced their engagement in November 2019, when Schiffman popped the question while they were enjoying an intimate dinner by the beach.

The television journalist announced their split in January 2022, saying during Today with Hoda & Jenna, "We decided that we're better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple, so we decided we are going to start this new year ... on our new path as loving parents to our adorable, delightful children, and as friends."

She went on to praise Schiffman: "He's a great guy. He's a very kind and loving person, and I feel privileged to have spent eight years with him. We are both good and we are both kind of going on our way and our path. We'll be good parents to those two lovely kids."

In May, Kotb shared a sweet photo on Instagram of daughters as they enjoyed time at the playground on Memorial Day morning.

Hope and Haley flashed big smiles after successfully climbing to the top of a spider climber. Haley posed with her hand behind her head while Hope gave an adorable wave to the camera.

"Summer sisters xo," Kotb captioned the shot.
