Luke Morgan returns to Hollyoaks with a bang on E4 tonight (July 21) by stealing from his old friend Darren Osborne.

Gary Lucy's exciting return scenes air in this evening's E4 first look episode, which sees Luke and Darren bump into each other at a bar.

Hollyoaks had previously teased that we'd see a whole new Luke when he comes back to the show – and it seems that he's starting as he means to go on by betraying Darren right from the start.

Things start off well enough as the old mates catch up, with Luke portraying himself as a wealthy estate agent who has a beautiful girlfriend and a child at home.

However, when Darren goes for a toilet break later on, Luke ends up stealing money from his wallet and does a runner. That's certainly not the Luke we remember!

Darren is disgusted when he realises what's happened and isn't prepared to let the matter go easily, so he finds out where Luke lives and tracks him down.

When Darren discovers the poor state of his home, Luke explains that his girlfriend is an alcoholic. A sympathetic Darren offers him a job to pay back what he owes, unaware that he's still not getting the true story.

Speaking about tonight's scenes, Gary revealed: "Luke turns up and bumps into Darren in the Duke Street Social. He feeds Darren a story that he is currently working as an estate agent selling properties in Manchester.

"But he has in fact just lost his job doing that. He is basically now struggling to pay his way, so he ends up stealing Darren's money."

Yesterday, it was officially confirmed that Luke is romantically involved with fellow returnee Mandy Richardson.

Despite his claims to Darren, he's actually the one with an alcohol problem and this will cause some huge drama airing for him and Mandy over the summer.

Sarah Jayne Dunn, who plays Mandy, teased: "Mandy and Luke are back together, but their relationship is a very complicated one, that we will learn more about during the Summer of Secrets."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
