Windies star pulls off insane Superman catch

West Indies batsman Shai Hope has taken one of the best catches of 2017 in the second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton.

The Kiwis resumed at 7/286 on day two with Tom Blundell and Neil Wagner at the crease but the hosts got off to the worst possible start.

On just the third ball of the day, Wagner slashed at a Kemar Roach delivery that caught the edge and looked destined to run to the boundary after fizzing wide of the slips cordon.

However, Hope threw himself full-stretch to his left at gully to pluck a spectacular one-handed catch out of the air.

It was a take of the highest quality and instantly brought back memories of Aussie captain Steve Smith's screamer to remove Kiwi wicketkeeper BJ Watling in an ODI last year.

Unfortunately for the Windies, their good early work was undone as they allowed the Kiwi tail to wag their way to an improbable total after falling to 8/286.

A last-wicket partnership of 61 between Tim Southee (31) and Trent Boult (37n.o.) saw New Zealand finish their first innings on 373 runs.

Boult then did his best to outdo Hope when he was given the ball, taking a brilliant caught and bowled to dismiss Shimron Hetmyer.
