How the MAFS stars' lives have changed since quitting their day jobs

It’s been three months since this year’s season of Married At First Sight finished airing and for some cast members, life couldn’t be any more different.

From chauffeurs to security guards, brand new careers to brand new appearances, here’s how the season nine stars’ lives have changed since appearing on reality TV.

Bodyguards

After becoming overnight celebrities, a number of this year’s MAFS participants require bodyguards and security when out in public.

During the height of their season in February, Brent Vitiello, Al Perkins and Ella Ding enlisted the help of First Class Protection Security Services - the same company used by the likes of Kyle Sandilands, Sophie Monk and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

Yahoo Lifestyle understands that the fan favourite bride wanted security at the event after some people had driven past her parent's remote home “shouting obscenities on multiple occasions”.

Luxury travel

After signing with a talent manager and securing her name on a number of guest lists in the city, Selin Mengu has often been spotted arriving at parties and events in a $1.2 million Rolls-Royce.

The car, and chauffeur, are leased from Prestige Hire Australia and usually picks her up from her home and whisks her into the city.

Transformations

Alongside Jackson Lonie and Matt Ridley, Selin underwent a major post-show transformation and received veneers from Dr Dee at Vogue Dental Studios in Melbourne.

Selin spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle at Australian Fashion Week in May about her dental makeover, which is believed to be worth around $55,000.

“When I first got them done I thought they were too big and too white and all of these things,” she said. “It’s obviously still a drastic change, but I love them. I'm so impressed with them and everyone loves them and thinks they’re real so I’m happy with them.”

Selina Chhaur debuted a major transformation of her own shortly after the show finished airing, swapping her blonde hair and blue contact lenses for dark tresses and her natural brown eyes.

“After MAFS I went home, did a lot of reflecting and I was like, you know what? I’m going to embrace my natural look,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle while getting ready for the Logie Awards.

“I love being Asian and I love my culture and I’m proud, so I want to represent!”

New careers

Following her time on reality TV, Dom has since appeared as a guest on The Hundredcollaborated with major fashion retailer Showpo, and launched a podcast with fellow MAFS star Ella Ding.

Most recently she’s become Yahoo Lifestyle’s weekly sex columnist, answering all the burning questions you wish you could ask, and last month she relaunched her now-infamous OnlyFans account.

“After being shamed for OnlyFans on the show and everything I went through, this is my chance to take back power and make light of the experience,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Her co-stars Jackson Lonie and Olivia Frazer have also signed up for OnlyFans, with the former teaching student earning a whopping $10,000 in her first 12 hours on the platform.

Meanwhile, Brent and Al are currently working on their own clothing range, collaborating with luxury streetwear brand Valianu on a line of limited edition hoodies that they’ve designed themselves.

Personal appearances

Yahoo Lifestyle understands that the more popular MAFS contestants can charge a minimum of $3,000 to turn up to a personal appearance for just one hour.

Since the show wrapped, Brent and Al have cashed in by touring Australia doing club appearances, with Ella often joining them.

Stars have also regularly been invited to the biggest events in the country, including Australia Fashion Week and the Logie Awards, where they're often the centre of attention.

Only time will tell what’s next for the cast of MAFS season nine!
