I’m A Celebrity star’s verdict on 2024 rumoured line-up
Scarlette Douglas speaks to Yahoo about her thoughts on the ITV jungle show leaks
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here's Scarlette Douglas has shared her thoughts on the 2024 rumoured line-up as names begin to leak online.
The countdown is on until the 2024 series starts on Sunday 17 November and speculation about which celebs could be heading Down Under have been hitting headlines. Coleen Rooney and Danny Jones are among the names tipped for this year's ITV jungle series.
Other stars linked to the jungle include Jane Moore, Oti Mabuse, Love Island's Maura Higgins, YouTuber GK Barry, Rev Richard Coles, Alan Halsall, Melvin Odoom, Barry McGuigan, Tulisa, radio star Dean McCullough.
Rooney is tipped to be the most expensive signing to date, according to The Sun. Douglas reckoned she would be "pretty good" in the jungle.
"I can only be as confident as what's been leaked out," Douglas told Yahoo UK. "They're saying that Coleen Rooney has been offered over £1.5m and that's the highest ever, more than Nigel Farage. Everyone's going to be asking about the Wagatha Christie trial.
"Everyone will want to know all the ins and outs and the gossip but I don't think she'll be allowed to talk about it, obviously there's a court case that's ongoing, so who knows? I think she could be pretty good in there."

Tulisa
Also, Douglas has been impressed with rumoured signing Tulisa, who shot to fame as part of N-Dubz. The property star thought the singer would be courageous in the jungle and she voiced her hopes of seeing women being stronger than the men in the jungle.
"I can imagine her being really brave and really strong," she said. "Because I think she's been through so much anyway, that again we'll just get to see that that strong side of her and I do love seeing how strong women are in there, when we're stronger than the men, we absolutely love it."
No politicians
Douglas starred alongside controversial Matt Hancock in the 2022 jungle series but the presenter thinks having no politicians this year is a "good shout" from the TV bosses. Even hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly begged the bosses for no more politicians after the controversy around Farage's stint last year.
She said: "Let's step away from politics for a bit and let's focus on other celebrities that are probably going to get more of the limelight, as opposed to always being about the politician, because when Matt (Hancock) was in there, he was pretty much getting voted for every trial and for me, it was great because I didn't have to do any of the dodgy things. I didn't have to eat anything bad.
"I had an easier ride than some that have been on the show before. But I think it's good that if that's the case that they have kind of sailed away from politicians this year."
How do I'm A Celeb bosses choose the stars?
As well as Hancock, Douglas shared the camp with stars including singer Boy George, Love Island's Olivia Attwood (although she was only in it for such a short time), actor Owen Warner, former rugby player Mike Tindall, actor Sue Cleaver, radio star Chris Moyles, Loose Women panellist Charlene White, comedian Babatunde Aleshe, and footballer Jill Scott MBE.
It begs the question how do the stars get chosen for the ITV show?
Douglas said: "It's definitely a social experiment. Outside of the social experiment which is living in a jungle, doing all these crazy trials and challenges, actually the social challenge of it of all these different personalities in such a small space for such a long time.
"The camp, you think it's huge, but actually it's not really that big. Yes, OK, you can wander off and go to other places, but realistically you're in around the camp, you find them. So how are all these personalities going to work out?"
