I'm a Celebrity's Nathan Buckley blasts Joey Essex: 'Don’t be a rude pr**k'

It’s finals week in the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! jungle and it seems like the campmates may be itching to get out.

Last night, tensions ran high between former Aussie coach Nathan Buckley and reality TV star Joey Essex.

To probably nobody’s surprise at this stage in the camp, the whole argument was all about food, specifically how Joey was preparing the camp meal.

Joey decided to give his culinary delight a taste with the communal wooden spoon, before putting it back in the dish and stirring it around.

Nathan was horrified over Joey’s actions, repeatedly asking: “Oh, no no. You haven’t put that in your mouth?”.

“I have,” Joey responded, with Nathan replying: “Well, don’t do it. Don’t be a rude prick.”

Nathan continued: ‘You’re not cooking for you, you’re cooking for more than you. Is that fair enough?”

Like a scorned schoolboy, Joey said: “Fair enough mate. Everyone has done it, haven’t they? Come on mate let’s all have a good time.”

Nathan wasn’t backing down, asking Joey: “Is that fair enough? Can I just check with you? That ok? You’ve accepted it.”

“I’ve accepted it, of course I have,” Joey said, with Nathan replying: “Excellent.”

That wasn’t the end of the matter, with Nathan later coming over to Joey to try to diffuse the situation, saying he wasn’t “having a go”.

Joey still had his back up, saying he’s seen everybody in camp lick the wooden spoon and felt a bit picked on.

“You’re playing victim,” Nathan said.

In a piece to camera, Nathan continued: “In this really small, confined, shared environment, you need to consider everyone around you. I gave him the feedback, if he wants to take it onboard or not it’s up to him.”

Joey was a bit flabbergasted by the whole situation, saying: “I mean we’re living in the jungle, eating each off each other’s plates and spoons and not even washing our cutlery correct.

“I mean, I’ve had these pants on for about three days. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nathan was wearing my pants.”

Many fans on the official I’m A Celebrity Instagram page sided with Nathan, with one person commenting: “Nathan was teaching Joey some manners!!”

“Nathan was spot on,” another said, with a third commenting: ‘Nathan wasn’t even harsh, he said it just how he needed to. No one wants mouth bacteria in their food.”

Others thought Nathan could have worked on his delivery of the feedback: “Maybe the tone was off he could have delivered the same message to get a better outcome with a better tone , that’s all.”
