The Russian military has ramped up its offensive operations across several fronts, including the Kupyansk, Siversk, and Kharkiv sectors, particularly near the village of Lyptsi, with the Ukrainian General Staff documenting a total of 62 combat engagements on May 31.

The situation remains particularly tense near the town of Pokrovs in the Donetsk region.

According to reports, Russian forces continue to shell and launch airstrikes in the northeastern regions of Sumy and Chernihiv, targeting border areas. Locations such as Shalymivka, Vodolahy, and Baryshyvka have been heavily affected.

In Kharkiv Oblast, Russian activity has been notably aggressive near Lyptsi. The nearby villages of Neskuchne, Yurchenkove, and Bilyi Kolodyazh endured attacks involving at least six glide bombs launched from Protonovka and Shebekino in Russia's Belgorod Oblast.

Ukrainian forces successfully repelled five enemy attacks in the Siversk sector, with significant combat engagements near Bilohorivka, Vyimka, and Rozdolivka.

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian defenders thwarted seven additional Russian attacks. Intense battles are ongoing near the villages of Petropavlivka, Berestove, and Novoyehorivka, where Russian offensive efforts are being bolstered by air support.

That same evening, Donetsk Oblast Governor Vadym Filashkin reported that four Russian artillery strikes on the village of Drobysheve resulted in one civilian death and injuries to three others.
