Jacinda Ardern calls out critic during Facebook Live: 'Um, Amanda?'

Almost two years into the global Covid pandemic, it seems New Zealand’s Prime Minister is feeling the pressure and running out of patience.

The usually smiley Jacinda Ardern lashed out at a Facebook user during a live video stream on Wednesday.

Ms Ardern began the update on the country’s Covid situation by elaborating on the 60,000 doses of Pfizer’s new antiviral medicine her government has secured.

She went on to address the issue of vaccine mandates, clarifying children will not be forced to get the jab.

PM snaps over negative comment

But her explanation wasn’t good enough for one fired-up viewer.

"Over you. Over your mandate. People are suffering from your poor choices. Merry Xmas Aotearoa," the Facebook user wrote.

While Ms Ardern doesn’t often respond to negative comments, this particular one hit a nerve.

She paused her discussion and swiftly snapped directly back at the woman, reminding people they don’t have to watch her update.

"Um, Amanda. Sorry you're over me. But you don't have to stay on my Facebook Live if I'm bothering you," Ms Ardern said, appearing annoyed.

"I'm sure there are many other things you could do with your time if you find this irritating," she added.

Ms Ardern then returned to her cheery demeanour and continued answering other questions regarding Covid cases and vaccine numbers.

The Ministry of Health reported 103 new cases of Covid in the community on Thursday.

There have been 9696 infections during New Zealand's Delta outbreak, which broke out in August.
