Jake Paul vs Mike Perry LIVE! Boxing result, fight stream, latest updates and Mike Tyson reaction

Jake Paul vs Mike Perry LIVE!

Jake Paul will turn his attentions to Mike Tyson after producing a memorable win over Mike Perry in Tampa on Saturday night. The so-called ‘Problem Child’ delivered a total of three knockdowns in a dominant and entertaining display at Amalie Arena that ended with a brutal barrage in round six that forced the referee to step in.

It was just the sort of result and performance that Paul wanted after the postponement of his blockbuster showdown with heavyweight boxing legend Tyson, who was forced to push back their controversial Netflix-screened Texas clash last month to November 15 after suffering an ulcer flare-up. However, Paul insists that fight is now very much on as he also called out reigning UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

On a stacked undercard on Saturday, Amanda Serrano sent an emphatic message to Katie Taylor with an early demolition of Stevie Morgan. Lucas Bahdi brutally knocked out Ashton Sylve in a massive upset after Corey Marksman also beat Tony Aguilar in a rematch, with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr outpointing Uriah Hall following early wins for Shadasia Green, Alexis Chaparro and Angel Barrientes. Jake Paul hits back quickly at Conor McGregor.

He also said this at his post-fight press conference in Tampa:

“That’s f****d up that he fired the BKFC champion.

“I told you that was gonna happen. I told you exactly what was going to happen, he was big upping his boy Mike Perry.

“I said, ‘Okay Conor, after I f**k up Mike Perry, then you’re next’. Conor is on Twitter all the time, he’s on his yacht all the time.

“Guess where he’s not - in the ring, fighting me. He can talk all the f**k he wants, but The Notorious MMA is scared of Jake Joseph Paul from Disney Channel.”

Here’s what Jake Paul had to say about Mike Tyson and Alex Pereira...

06:13 , George Flood

Jake Paul sends numerous messages to Mike Tyson in his post-fight interview in the ring with Ariel Helwani.

He initially said ‘sign the contract’ as well, before insisting that the fight was definitely happening in November.

He says he would be open to a bare-knuckle rematch with Perry, who is also down for a second bout in the octagon.

Paul also makes a direct callout to the UFC’s current light-heavyweight - and former middleweight - champion, Alex Pereira.

Perry is smashed with a big left hook and goes down again early in the sixth!

Round 5

Paul is trying to set up that crushing knockout blow, but Perry just will not give in despite having taken some enormous punishment here.

His face is an absolute bloodied mess.

Paul in complete and utter control as he continues to rain down those crushing blows.

I thought the referee was going to step in there.

Perry somehow makes it to the end of another round. No doubting his toughness whatsoever.

Round 4

Perry starts the fourth well, but is made to pay for an odd switch to southpaw as he is caught flush by a hard straight shot.

Paul ups the tempo and has Perry hurt once more against the ropes!

He senses a finish, but the tough-as-nails Perry is hanging in there despite having no defence and his arms still by his sides.

More huge shots from Paul send Perry careering into the corner, with the referee looking poised to step in.

But he lets it go and Perry almost goes down at the bell after another huge right hand!

Perry is having more success as he walks through shot after shot from Paul, who is looking more and more tired.

Jake Paul is already feeling the pace here, breathing heavily and getting a lot of ice on him in the corner before the start of the third.

Perry’s face is busted up and bloodied as he continues to eat some big shots - he’s down again after another big right!

He’s trying to keep up the pressure and walk Paul down, but his hands are down by his sides and he’s so open to the counter.

But a couple of good shots go in from Perry! He’s got the support of the crowd.

Round 2

Utterly sublime from seven-weight world champion Serrano.

A complete and total demolition in every sense of the word.

A penny for Katie Taylor’s thoughts right now!

What a start from Serrano!

She steps on the gas from the first bell, battering Morgan with some huge shots that leave her with a lot of damage straightaway.

Amanda Serrano vs Stevie Morgan

04:52 , George Flood

Like promoter Jake Paul, the legendary Amanda Serrano is also taking a bit of a risk tonight with her long-awaited rematch with Katie Taylor also pushed back to November 15.

Tampa favourite Stevie ‘Sledgehammer’ Morgan is 14-1 with 13 knockouts and is a very dangerous customer indeed.

Unified featherweight world champion Serrano’s record stands at 42-6-1, having outpointed all of Erika Cruz, Heather Hardy and Danila Ramos in 2023.

She was of course supposed to fight Germany’s Nina Meinke alongside the Jake Paul vs Ryan Bourland clash in her native Puerto Rico back in March, only to be ruled out mere minutes before the fight was due to take place as the result of an eye injury.

She will be hoping to bounce back from that bizarre episode tonight and send a message to Taylor after their Madison Square Garden classic in April 2022.

Bahdi confirms to Ariel Helwani that he wants the Floyd Schofield fight next.

Can’t stop watching that knockout. One of the most emphatic you will ever see inside a boxing ring.

Knockout of the Year sewn up already?

04:35

Thankfully it seems that Sylve is okay as he exits the ring, having suffered his first career defeat in absolutely brutal fashion.

He slips to 11-1 after what will go down as a massive upset, particularly given that H20 essentially dominated every second of that fight until that moment.

Bahdi improves to 17-0 with 12 knockouts. He will surely never produce a better one.

Just lethal.

04:29 , George Flood

The medical staff are in the ring and thankfully Sylve is now up and sitting on a stool.

We finally see a replay, which shows two monster right hands from Bahdi who finished with a devastating left hook to leave H2O completely out and faceplanting the canvas.

I’ll be stunned if we see a better or more brutal knockout than that all year. Incredible.

04:26 , George Flood

Still in disbelief at that - absolutely astonishing.

Bahdi had been absolutely dominated there round after round, but uncorks an enormous knockout blow from nowhere to leave Sylve out cold.

That was such a heavy stoppage, let’s hope Sylve is okay.

The referee stops Bahdi from celebrating too wildly with his opponent still led out on the canvas.

Ashton Sylve vs Lucas Bahdi

Round 5

Some of these body shots are absolutely vicious from Sylve.

Bahdi’s face is very red and there is blood coming from his nose.

The Canadian’s only hope is to try and set up and connect with a big right hand, but he can’t find the right moment to let it go.

Seriously slick stuff from H20 through the first half of this one-sided contest.

Ashton Sylve vs Lucas Bahdi

04:16 , George Flood

Round 4

The dominant Sylve is going through the gears early in the fourth, switching stances and piling on the pressure as he walks down an out-of-sorts Bahdi.

He’s picking his punches nicely still with good variety and anticipation, landing to both body and head.

Sylve coaxes Bahdi into trading at close range in the middle of the ring, buzzing his opponent with a shuddering uppercut.

Ashton Sylve vs Lucas Bahdi

04:12 , George Flood

Round 3

A nice left lands flush from the confident and fleet-footed Sylve midway through the third.

Bahdi is being countered a lot when he tries to attack and his red face shows the damage being inflicted by H20, who rattles in another great shot just before the bell.

Three rounds comfortably in the bag for Sylve so far. He looks very sharp indeed.

Ashton Sylve vs Lucas Bahdi

04:10

Round 2

This is good from Sylve, who is biding his time and taking the openings when they come.

He’s got that right hand primed and ready to go when the opportunity presents itself, digging to the body and throwing in a couple of decent uppercuts.

Bahdi looks very tentative and nervous. He needs to step it up quickly.

Ashton Sylve vs Lucas Bahdi

04:05

Round 1

Plenty of early pressure from Sylve, who shows his hand speed with some sharp early openings.

Bahdi is wary of his opponent’s quickness with both hands and feet, though he fizzes forward on the counter towards the end of a pretty quiet opener.

Top MVP prospect Sylve is 11-0 as a pro with nine knockouts.

He was originally due to face Floyd Schofield tonight, but for ‘Kid Austin’ to withdraw last month with an injury.

Sylve was last seen outpointing Estivan Falcao on the fifth MVP Prospects card in February.

Canadian Bahdi is 10 years older than Sylve at 30, 16-0 with 11 knockouts - including a fourth-round stoppage of Jose Luis Rodriguez in February.

Ashton Sylve vs Lucas Bahdi

Round 8

A gruelling final round, with Marksman looking to finish strong but Aguilar trying to unload at close range.

Fascinating clash of styles.

Tony Aguilar vs Corey Marksman

03:21 , George Flood

Round 3

You can’t take your eyes off this thrilling contest for a second.

Marksman takes control early in the third, putting together some remarkable combinations - attacking both body and head in a spiteful blur of terrific speed and anticipation. Wow.

But Aguilar is hanging in there, mounting more of his own assaults and trying to slow down his rival on the inside.

What a fight this is at the moment.

Tony Aguilar vs Corey Marksman

03:16 , George Flood

Round 2

Aguilar has blood pouring from his nose early in the second.

The fast and furious action continues, with Marksman firing to the body at will and countering nicely.

Round 1

These familiar opponents and Florida rivals both look to go to work behind their respective jabs early in what is their fourth showdown in total in the amateur and pro ranks.

A potential Fight of the Night contender on the way next!

We’ve got a lightweight rematch between Tony Aguilar and Corey Marksman, who played out a thrilling split-decision draw in their initial meeting on the fifth MVP Prospects card back in February.

That bout was fought over six rounds, whereas this second contest has been bumped up to eight.

Both men are undefeated, with that draw the only blot on their respective copybooks.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr wants Jake Paul fight next

02:55 , George Flood

54-6-1 now for 38-year-old Chavez Jr, who knows that wasn’t his best performance after two-and-a-half years out of the ring but believes he definitely did enough to win.

The crowd don’t agree and give a decidedly underwhelmed reaction when asked to respond to Chavez Jr’s call-out of Jake Paul.

I don’t think we’ll see that fight somehow. On that evidence, it would be an easy night’s work for the Problem Child.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr beats Uriah Hall on points

02:51 , George Flood

The scores are in!

59-55, 59-55, 58-56 - all in favour of Chavez Jr, who wins via unanimous decision.

Two of those cards are wider than I expected.

The crowd are not happy and neither are Hall’s team. Some boos during the post-fight interview with Chavez Jr...

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

02:48 , George Flood

Round 6

Chavez Jr - who is quite marked up on the face - looks to finish strong in the sixth, doing the better work before being buzzed by a solid left from Hall backed up against the ropes.

Both men land solid blows before the final bell and both think they have won as they celebrate inside the ring.

Fascinated to see how this has been scored. Regardless of the outcome, a moral victory for Hall.

A fine showing in only the MMA veteran’s second professional boxing bout and first since October 2022.

And against a vastly experienced former world champion to boot - albeit one who hadn’t fought since 2021.

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

02:45 , George Flood

Round 5

This fight has really warmed up nicely after a slow start.

It’s a close, close contest, with both men trying to let their hands go during more busy exchanges.

But again, Hall as the aggressor probably gets the better of those close-range battles, landing nicely to the head but absorbing more damage to the body.

One round to go, this is anyone’s fight.

We could be witnessing the last round of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr’s long career here.

Jake Paul makes grand entrance

02:42 , George Flood

A typically understated entrance from Jake Paul to Tampa’s Amalie Arena tonight.

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

02:39 , George Flood

Round 4

Some decent action again to finish the fourth.

Hall was cautious early on but looks dangerous when he lets the shots fly - he’s got power and is making Chavez Jr think twice.

Is this 2-2 through four? Only two rounds to go...

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

Round 3

A rather leisurely fight continues to amble along in familiarly frustrating fashion before igniting towards the end of the third.

Chavez Jr is looking fairly comfortable despite the pressure, until Hall finally decides to let his hands go and try to put the combinations together.

A strong end to the round from the former UFC middleweight, who might just have nicked it.

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

02:30

Round 2

Hall continues to walk down Chavez Jr and apply the pressure, but without letting the punches fly.

He’s looking really uncertain about letting his hands go early on here.

Chavez Jr continues to move around the ring and pick his moments and angles, digging to the body effectively with the left.

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

02:26

Round 1

This is a six-rounder being fought at cruiserweight.

Not too many early fireworks, with Hall following Chavez Jr around the ring but not really doing much at all before being rattled by a few signature hooks to the body from the Mexican.

Chavez Jr almost lands flush upstairs with one of those wincing left hooks.

Hall has to be very careful indeed to avoid those.

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

Here we go with the first fight of tonight’s main card between the former long-time UFC middleweight and ex-WBC middleweight world champion.

Jake Paul admits Mike Tyson concerns over Mike Perry fight

02:19 , George Flood

Jake Paul will of course be looking to send an emphatic message to Mike Tyson in tonight’s main event ahead of their rescheduled Netflix blockbuster in Texas, now set for November 15 after Tyson’s recent ulcer flare-up.

The ‘Problem Child’ admitted this week that Tyson has expressed some concerns over Paul taking what appears to be a real risk by meeting a tough wildcard like Perry tonight.

"He's doing good, he's back in training,” Paul said of ‘Iron Mike’.

"He was concerned about me taking this fight. He was like, 'What is Jake doing, this guy Mike Perry is a killer’.

“He has some concerns but Tyson - my message to you is don't worry, I'm going to put this guy to sleep.

“This guy is a Mike appetiser and then you're next."

Jake Paul: Mike Perry is my 'most dangerous opponent yet'

02:03 , George Flood

A final pre-fight tweet from Jake Paul, who describes Mike Perry as his “most dangerous opponent yet”.

He writes: “Fear no man. Fear no war. Fear only god who rides with me into battle tonight. I’m his servant sent to show the world what’s possible when you believe.

“In 4 years I’ve accumulated more skill than a man who’s been fighting for 15.

“Make no mistake that this is my most dangerous opponent yet, but skills pay the bills and tonight Mike Perry’s rent is due.”

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

01:52 , George Flood

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr was originally supposed to be fighting another former UFC star in Darren Till tonight, until the Liverpool native pulled out of the event following the postponement of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson.

Chavez Jr also fought against UFC icon Anderson Silva in the summer of 2021, losing on points.

He has not fought at all since earning a unanimous decision win over David Zegarra in Mexico in December 2021.

The 38-year-old is a veteran of 61 professional bouts, with 53 wins (34 KOs) and six losses.

Uriah Hall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr to open undercard

01:46 , George Flood

Tonight’s main card begins with an intriguing bout between Uriah Hall and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Hall is a 39-year-old former long-time UFC middleweight who made a winning start to his professional boxing career by outpointing former NFL running back Le'Veon Bell on the Jake Paul-Anderson Silva undercard in Arizona in October 2022.

He now goes up against Chavez Jr, former WBC middleweight world champion and son of the legendary former three-weight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez.

Shadasia Green outpoints Natasha Spence in comeback win

01:34 , George Flood

78-73, 77-74, 77-74 - all three judges scorecards are in favour of Green, who moves to 14-1.

A vital bounce-back win after her first career loss to super-middleweight world champion Francesca Crews-Dezurn in Orlando in December.

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:32

Round 8

That controversial knockdown gives Spence some renewed hope and energy in the final round.

She tries to go on the offensive in search of an explosive last-gasp knockout, but Green responds smartly and boxes clever to see out a potentially dangerous round.

Surely Green will be a comfortable victor on the cards despite hitting the deck at the end of the seventh.

Overall a very impressive response to that maiden defeat by Crews-Dezurn.

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:28

Round 7

Green remains in complete and utter control of this thoroughly one-sided contest.

She continues to set up the big right hand with that tidy jab, almost taunting Spence at times.

BUT GREEN IS DOWN BEFORE THE BELL IN THE PENULTIMATE ROUND!

She’s tagged with an overhand right before slipping backwards and hitting the canvas.

It’s scored a knockdown, much to Green’s dismay.

The right hand landed lightly on her chest before a tangle of feet sent her backwards and down.

Things just got a bit more interesting heading into the final couple of minutes...

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:24 , George Flood

Round 6

Green continues to walk forward, apply the relentless, suffocating pressure and thunder in that heavy right hand at will.

Spence is full of heart but looks out of her depth here.

An ugly spell of clinching against the ropes to end another otherwise dominant round from Green, who could well be pitching a shutout here through six.

Two rounds to go.

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:22

Round 5

The dominant Green turns up the power midway through the fifth, putting some real venom on a series of nice shots to both body and head.

The combinations are working well. A really good performance from Green so far and the perfect response to her first career defeat.

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:19 , George Flood

Round 4

Spence ups the aggression levels in the fourth, trying to put pressure on Green and force her out of her comfort zone.

But she’s mostly held at bay with relative ease by the ‘Sweet Terminator’, who continues to jab very nicely and has her opponent caught against the ropes again before the bell.

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:17 , George Flood

Round 3

Not too much highlight-reel action in this one so far, but Green is going along well - controlling the pace, range and tempo and routinely landing the more eye-catching shots.

The best of the round being a short counter that punished Spence for swinging a bit too wildly looking to detonate that overhand right.

Green surely 3-0 up here and cruising in this eight-rounder.

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:14 , George Flood

Round 2

A couple of good signs from Spence in the second, sneaking in a solid right hand and looking to build on it with another long right.

But Green is still in full control, with far more aggression and snap on her punches.

Shadasia Green vs Natasha Spence

01:10 , George Flood

Round 1

A dominant first round from Green - just what she would have wanted.

She is able to impose herself from the first bell, with Spence quickly up against the ropes.

Alexis Chaparro stops Kevin Hill in round two

Sunday 21 July 2024 00:55

Wow - emphatic from Chaparro!

The gulf in class here is huge, with ‘Chop Chop’ going on the offensive again early in the second.

With just over a minute to go in the round, he floors Hill with a huge left hand in a ruthless explosion of blistering counters that came after an initial assault from Hill.

The American slumps down against the ropes and tries to get up way too late in the count.

Superb from Chaparro, who was like a coiled spring there as he went from covering up to countering in sublime fashion.

Two pro bouts, two early knockouts. One to watch for sure as he moves to 2-0.

Hill is now 1-2.

Round 1

A bit of a risky, unorthodox start from Hill and he’s made to pay with some strong early shots from Chaparro.

‘Chop Chop’ has frightening hand speed and is overwhelming Hill early on, the American swinging wildly in response.

The combinations are already working nicely.

A great start to this four-rounder from Chaparro, who digs in some lovely shots to the body.

The first bell sounds.

Can Kevin Hill play spoiler here to stunt Alexis Chaparro’s early progress?

Chaparro stopped Dan Augare in the first round on his pro debut back in April.

Hill, meanwhile, won his debut bout against Demetrius Ericks before losing to Jeremiah Robinson.

To the middleweight division we go now for the second of tonight’s three early prelim contests.

Puerto Rican prospect Alexis ‘Chop Chop’ Chaparro looks for his second consecutive professional victory against the 1-1 Kevin Hill from Missouri.

Angel Barrientes beats Edwin Rodriguez via majority decision

Sunday 21 July 2024 00:39 , George Flood

We go to the judges’ scorecards...

57-57, 60-54, 60-54 - Barrientes wins via majority decision to move to 12-1 and make it nine consecutive wins since that lone defeat to Travon Lawson in 2020.

A deserved victory and a tough fight that will serve him well going forward.

57-57 is a bit of a shocker, mind...

Round 6

Some very nice combinations from Barrientes in the final round there, showing off his range and variety.

The brave Rodriguez keeps coming forward until the end, but he takes some looping shots to the body and some thudding punches upstairs including a snapping uppercut.

A strong end to the night from ‘AK-47’, who doesn’t get the knockout but will surely have his hands raised in a few moments.

A very valuable experience for him tonight.

Round 5

Plenty more pressure and intensity from the seemingly indefatigable Rodriguez in the penultimate round as he comes forward relentlessly.

He’s really making Barrientes work hard here - it’s been far from an easy night for ‘AK-47’.

Barrientes isn’t putting too many of those stylish combos together now, though he will be comfortably ahead on points of course.

His corner will be looking for him to step it back up in the final three minutes. Rodriguez must be needing a knockout...

Round 4

This is brave stuff from Rodriguez, who has taken some big shots so far tonight but keeps walking forward and applying the pressure to Barrientes.

The Las Vegas native is having to stay sharp and keep his wits about him, working behind a decent jab to evade those intense advances.

Round 3

Barrientes continues to go through the gears early in the third, working nicely behind that strong jab.

His long looping arms allow him to connect with a sweeping overhand right to the temple that shakes Rodriguez, who responds with a smile.

Plenty of effort and determination from the Puerto Rican through the halfway stage, but Barrientes is looking very handy indeed now.

He’s in firm control.

Round 2

‘AK-47’ starts to go to work early in the second, having success with those combinations and utilising his large reach advantage.

He’s jabbing well to head and body and lands a couple of crunching counters, including a crushing short hook from close range after Rodriguez tried to fire off an uppercut.

Rodriguez is still undeterred and firing off plenty on the inside, but the more eye-catching work definitely came from Barrientes there.

Round 1

A highly-watchable, competitive first round in this opener.

A promising start from Barrientes, showing his fast hands and quickly trying to put the combinations together.

But the experienced Rodriguez, 10 years his opponent’s senior, is not fazed and comes roaring back towards the back end of the first, throwing an eye-catching overhand right and rattling in some solid blows upstairs with both hands before the bell.

He won’t make this easy for Barrientes...

Here we go!

Tonight’s three-fight prelim schedule is officially underway.

Angel Barrientes is a huge favourite here. Can he put on another show?

Plenty of fans have already taken their seats inside Amalie Arena, which is good to see.

‘AK-47’ Barrientes tends to love an early knockout, having stopped Argentina’s Ernesto Franzolini in round one with a bruising body shot in March.

This could be an explosive start to proceedings in Tampa!
