Hollywood actor Jeff Bridges diagnosed with lymphoma
Hollywood star Jeff Bridges has revealed he has been diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, taking to social media to share the news and his prognosis.
“As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light,” the 70-year-old started a post on his Instagram account.
“I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good,” he continued.
The True Grit star also said he would be starting treatment shortly and would keep fans posted on his recovery.
“I’m profoundly grateful for the love and support from my family and friends,” he added.
“Thank you for your prayers and well wishes.”
Despite the serious news, Jeff also took the time to encourage people to vote in the upcoming US Presidential election.
“And, while I have you, please remember to go vote. Because we are all in this together. Vote.org,” he concluded his post.
Jeff’s career highlight came in 2010, with both Academy Award and Golden Globe wins for best actor for his performance as Otis ‘Bad’ Blake in Crazy Heart.
His celebrity friends were quick to share their well wishes for the star online.
“Sending you and your family love and healing,” actress Patricia Arquette said.
Comedian Kathy Griffin tweeted: “Jeff, sending you the wish, the hope, that you get everything you need and anything you want.”
And Star Trek’s George Takei said: “You’re a fighter. You can beat this.”
