While we're still patiently waiting for the official Friends reunion special to happen, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox all kindly got together for an impromptu mini reunion at last night's Emmy Awards, presumably to keep us going until the main event (thanks guys, it worked).

Emmys 2020 host Jimmy Kimmel was interviewing Jennifer at home when Courteney and Lisa popped into view, and Jen and Courteney even made a little crack about living together and being "roommates since 1984". Oh, and Jen's non-Friends BFF Jason Bateman also made a brief appearance.

Jennifer, who shared a picture of herself in a comfy pair of pyjamas before the main event, was up for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in The Morning Show, but lost out to Zendaya who made history as the youngest person to ever win the award.

The one-off Friends special, which comes after the show's 25th anniversary, was originally supposed to air in May, then filming was delayed until August due to the coronavirus pandemic - and production has since been delayed for a second time, but with "no new target date."

However, Jen has previously assured Friends fans that the delay doesn't need to be a negative thing. Explaining the producers' decision, she told Deadline, "Unfortunately it’s very sad that we had to move it again. It was, 'How do we do this with live audiences?' This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it."

But determined to look on the bright side, she added, "It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been.

"So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re suck with us for life guys."
