Jennifer Lawrence Made a Rare Social Media Appearance

Though she doesn't have any official social media accounts (and seems to have no plans to get one), Jennifer Lawrence made a rare appearance online this week for a good cause.

On Wednesday, non-profit political advocacy group Represent Us shared a video of the actress making a PSA urging Americans to vote in this year's election.

"First and foremost I want to give my heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and my deepest gratitude to the emergency responders and the healthcare workers who are risking their health every day," Lawrence said. "The best thing we can do to stop the spread of this virus is to stay at home. But we still have an election coming up with millions of Americans who have yet to cast their ballot in the 2020 primaries."

Lawrence, who is a board member for Represent Us, encouraged those haven't done so to go to represent.us/voteathome in order to find information on casting their ballots at home — and challenged friend Amy Schumer to join in.

Though some states have already allowed absentee voting if someone cannot go to a polling place in person, the requriements for people who qualify can vary from state to state. Concerns over the coroanvirus have delayed state primary elections that were scheduled for March and April, with the 2020 presidential election over seven months away.
