Jeremy Clarkson unveils Christmas menu for his pub The Farmer’s Dog
Here is Jeremy Clarkson's pub festive menu and opening hours around Christmas
Would you have Christmas with Jeremy Clarkson at his pub The Farmer's Dog?
Former The Grand Tour presenter has shared his plans for the first Christmas at his new pub The Farmer's Dog, in Asthall, near Burford in Oxfordshire after trip advisor reviews revealed what Clarkson's pub is actually like.
While the Cotswolds country pub is closed on the 25 December, the TV personality has already cooked up his menu for the festive season and will be open around Christmas Day.
His pub menu courted the attention of Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens who shared his verdict on Clarkson's pub menu, telling Yahoo: "What Jeremy is trying to do is showcase the best of British farming and what it can offer. Jeremy is being pretty cut throat to himself and not allowing any produce that is non-British inside the premise. I think that it's great. It's a good, real way to stick to your guns about British farming, having your principles and really sticking to what you believe in."
British produce is at the heart of The Farmer's Dog because it is what Clarkson as a farmer believes in and champions. Last Christmas for the first time ever, the telly star decided to have his first fully home-grown Christmas lunch that was grown and reared at Diddly Squat Farm.
Also Clarkson suffered Christmas heartbreak when his girlfriend Lisa Hogan's horse died the week before. At the time, he wrote in The Times: "When Lisa’s horse died I was upset because I could see she was. And because I would have to deal with it."
This year will be the presenter's fifth Christmas as a farmer but his first as a pub landlord. Clarkson may be away enjoying warmer climes at the moment but he has been getting his pub ready for Christmas behind the scenes.

Jeremy Clarkson's 'proper English pub' menu sparks debate about what's missing
The Farmer's Dog's Christmas menu certainly has a competitive price at £40 for three courses. This won't come as a surprise though as Michelin-starred chef Aikens told Yahoo that Clarkson's Sunday carvery at £20 was both "competitive" and "good value" after his visit to the Cotswolds boozer.
He added: "Jeremy is showcasing the best of British farming in a pub and in his farm shop to the general public to really say, 'Hey, you can actually have pretty good food for a reasonable price' which is what he's doing. For a lot of people who can't sometimes afford to go out and eat. It's a great way to introduce them into having good British staples like the carvery and the Sunday Roast."
