Jesinta and Buddy Franklin welcome their first child together

Jesinta Franklin has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, with the former Miss Universe Australia and her AFL star husband, Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin, over the moon at the arrival of their bundle of joy.

"Jesinta and Lance are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby daughter, Tallulah Franklin," a spokeswoman for the couple told the Daily Telegraph.

"They are both absolutely besotted with her."

According to NameBerry.com, Tallulah is of Irish and Native American origin and means ‘lady of abundance’, or ‘leaping water’.

Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Bruce Willis famously gave the name Tallulah to their baby girl when she was born back in 1994.

Actors Philip Seymour and Patrick Dempsey also gave the name Tallulah to their daughters.

Back in August, Jesinta announced she was pregnant on her health app, revealing the journey to get there was far from easy.

“My husband and I are so incredibly excited and overjoyed to announce that we have a baby on the way,” the 28-year-old wrote.

“The journey to get here hasn’t been easy and this little life is the greatest gift and we feel truly blessed and grateful that we will have a little angel of our own.

“We have both dreamt of this for a long time and whilst the 2.5 years have been physically and emotionally challenging, there’s nothing we would change as its brought us to this beautiful moment,” she continued.

“The immense love we already have for our baby is indescribable and we can’t wait to meet our little miracle.”

Appearing at Myer's 2019 Spring Style Edit Event just days after the announcement, Jesinta said the first 12 weeks of her pregnancy had been rough.

“I’ve spent more time in bed and on the couch than I've actually (been) outdoors in the sunshine,' Jesinta told The Daily Mail.

The model backed it up, telling The Herald Sun her experience had felt like a ‘12-week hangover’, complete with new stretch marks and weight gain.

She got remarkably candid, revealing the physical struggle didn’t compare to the heartache that paved her and husband Buddy’s long road to pregnancy.

“Because I had struggled to fall pregnant and there had been losses along the way, as a woman who had been through that I felt like I was doing so many couples a disservice to come out and say, ‘Surprise, we are pregnant,’...” she told The Herald Sun.

The former model said she chose to speak candidly to assure other women who were struggling to fall pregnant, that pregnancy isn’t always a sure thing, or an easy win.

Jesinta and Buddy got married in November 2016 at the Mount Wilson’s Wildensten Gardens in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.
