Jimmy Fallon Announces the Return of His Book Club — And There’s a March Madness Twist! (Exclusive)
The late night host shared the announcement during 'The Tonight Show' on Monday
Jimmy Fallon’s book club is back, and with a timely twist.
During The Tonight Show on Monday, Fallon, 49, announced the long-awaited return of the Fallon Book Club.
"If you know me, you know I’m always looking for a good book to read," the late night host said. "And that’s why I’m very excited to announce this."
The Fallon Book Club debuted in 2018 as a summer reading club called “Tonight Show Summer Reads.” Viewers had the opportunity to vote for their favorite book from a curated list, with the winning read being The Tonight Show's book club selection.
This new iteration of Fallon's book club, however, is timed to March Madness and participants may recognize the format, too. Fallon has selected 16 books — which he dubbed the "Sweet 16" — to compete in a NCAA tournament-inspired bracket. Viewers can vote on which books they want to continue through the rounds until one book, and its author, will be picked as Fallon's spring book club pick.

"We can vote round-by-round until we narrow them down to the Elite Eight books," Fallon said, referring to a stack of the selected books on his desk.
"I'm not saying this is the eight, or this is the eight. It could be this," the host added as he rearranged the books into piles. "These could be the eight! Until we get to the Final Four, then the Terrific Two, until we’re left with one winner - The Fallon Book Club Spring Read!"
Viewers will be able to cast up to ten votes per round. The advancing books will also be announced on the show and on its social media accounts, including a dedicated book club Instagram account, @FallonBookClub.
