John Krasinski reunited the original cast of Hamilton for a performance of “Alexander Hamilton”
John Krasinski is back on YouTube with Episode 2 of “Some Good News,” his brand-new series that centers on positive stories amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In this episode, which is currently trending at number one on the video platform, Krasinski reunited one of our favorite casts of all time (right behind The Office, of course). Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of Broadway’s Hamilton joined together to sing an at-home version of “Alexander Hamilton.” And, yup, we cried happy tears.
After sharing the latest good news to grace the internet, Krasinski surprised a Hamilton fan named Aubrey. Aubrey tweeted that she was supposed to see Hamilton live before Broadway shut down due to coronavirus. The surprise? Aubrey got to chat with Hamilton’s creator and star, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and was treated to a live performance from the entire original cast.
“If you can’t go to Hamilton, we’re bringing Hamilton to you,” Krasinski said.
Krasinki, Miranda, Emily Blunt, and Aubrey were then joined (from home) by stars Leslie Odom Jr., Jonathan Groff, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and everyone else singing the opening number from the musical.

When you can’t see Hamilton live on Broadway, this might be the next best thing. But Krasinski wanted to make sure Aubrey got that live theater experience anyway. He and wife Blunt gifted Aubrey with tickets and airfare to Manhattan so that she can attend the show once the quarantine rules lift.
Give “Some Good News” an Emmy already. Krasinski may have released only two episodes so far, but he already has the best news show out there. We’re not sure how he can top himself next week after pulling off this incredible feat, but something tells us we’ll be just as smiley during Episode 3.
