John Legend on the privilege of having a baby nurse, and life as a family of 6
John Legend and Chrissy Tiegen’s lives are even busier now that they have two toddlers running around the house. Their daughter Esti Maxine is 9 months old and their son Wren Alexander is 4 months old. Wren came into this world via surrogate, and Legend told People
“They’re sort of like twins … it kind of feels like that, but it’s not.”
Esti is already off to the races, Legend told People.
“She’s really getting close to walking, which is pretty early,” he told the publication. “She’s crawling and standing herself up already and leaning on the table. She pulls herself up and it feels like she’s getting really close. She’d be one of the earliest ones of our kids [to walk] if she does.”
And while Esti is working on her physical prowess, Wren is fine-tuning his personality, People reported.
Legend told the publication that Wren smiles constantly, and that is he and Tiegen’s favorite thing about him. He went as far as comparing Wren to a Cabbage Patch doll, because he “lights up the room” and is always smiling.
But life with almost twin toddlers isn’t for the faint of heart, and if you’re busy celebrities like John Legend and Chrissy Tiegen, you’re going to need some help along the way.
Legend told People, “Of course we have help around the house, and Chrissy’s mom is here,” he said “We have a baby nurse, so obviously that’s a privilege and something we don’t take for granted.”
He concluded that the days are flying by and while they enjoy “baby mode,” they’re also enjoying “toddler mode,” but they’re excited for “little older mode” to come soon.
